Mrs. Leslie Rene House

Our loving and amazing wife, mother, family member, teacher, and friend Leslie Rene House “Les” was born to Edward L. Fraser and Celestina Wells in Bridgeport, CT. Leslie was a beautiful, anointed, loving, powerful woman of God. She loved the Lord. When you come to Leslie, as many did, she would say “Let’s pray about it”. She knew the Lord was first and you felt the Lord when she was in your presence. A powerful woman of God. And don’t you mess with any of her babies. Young or old. Les will give you that eye that made you straighten up with the quickness. Leslie was born in Bridgeport, CT and then soon met her husband, Derek House of 28 years. Together they shared a love for ministry and helping others. From organizing The Christian Men’s Crusade which birthed a Women’s fellowship ministry to hosting the Annual Memorial Day Celebrations. The love they showed for everyone was evident by their generous hospitality. You always felt loved and welcomed in their home. The love they had for one another was unbreakable. Leslie and her daughter Tacora Collins shared a bond like no other. They were best friends, praying partners, and pretty much did everything together. There is no doubt. Leslie did have a favorite child in the whole wide world Kyre Jr. “KJ.” Leslie absolutely adored her grandson. He was her sunshine. KJ was an added reason to laugh, play and embrace. The look of joy in her eyes when KJ was with her melted hearts. A loving Mema she was. Leslie loved her job as a Preschool teacher. She loved every child as if they were her own. She treated each child with care, love and kindness. There is nothing she wouldn’t do for all of her children. Leslie had the natural ability to draw children to her. It was a gift. One of the many that Leslie had. When children are around, her attention is always on them to make sure they are happy and safe. Leslie was like no other. A loving teacher and friend, Leslie always admired the extra special gifts that parents and children use to give her. She would be so excited and very much appreciative. Leslie was blessed. Everywhere she went she was blessed. A kind heart, a special prayer, a great hug, a beautiful smile and a graceful spirit. She was all of that and more. Many know Leslie for her cooking….. Yes……. Leslie could cook like no tomorrow. Especially, when she prepared and cooked the meals for the family’s Thanksgiving dinner as well as the World-Famous Breakfast “Grand Slam.” Because she cooked with love that made her food taste all that much better. Leslie knew how to pack anything. She would pack for work and a trip with things neatly packed. If anything was left out of a fully packed suitcase or overnight bag, she would find a way to fit it in somehow. She was the same way with packing the refrigerator. You would look at all the food that is out after an event and say, there is no way that food will fit in the refrigerator……Leslie had a system, and that food went in, and it was neatly packed. Leslie was awesome. Leslie was preceded in death by her loving brother, Edward L. Fraser; her maternal grandmothers, Margaret Williams and Juanita Fraser; her paternal grandfather, Willie Fraser; and her nephew, Taesean “Tae” Fraser. Leslie leaves behind her beloved husband, Derek House; her parents, Celestina Wells, Edward L. and Darlene Fraser; her beautiful, loving daughter, Tacora Collins, and son in law Kyre Collins; her loving grandson, Kyre “KJ” Collins, Jr; brothers, Gwynmar C. Fraser (Yolanda) and Shanar R. Fraser; sisters, DeWygee K. Williams (Byron) and Sinseara A. Mercado (Rene); uncles, Lawrence Davis (Angela), Dexter Davis, Christopher Davis (June), Nelson Davis and Herbert Fraser (Wendy); aunts, Jeanette Carter, Vivian Broom, and Loris Griffin; best friend and cousin, Tracey R Waller (Michael); host of cousins and friends. Leslie will be forever in our hearts and will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and spirit.
