Mr. Joe Roberson

Joe Louis Roberson was born August 12, 1938 to the late Francis and Frank Roberson Sr. He was born in Oak City, NC. He attended school in the Martin County system. Joe entered eternal rest Tuesday October 22, 2019 at Vidant Heart Institute. Joe married the love of his life Gloria Dell Everett. They were married sixty-one years until he departed this life. Joe was a die hard Washington Redskins fan and often watched the game alone when they played the Dallas Cowboys which was his wife’s favorite team so when the Cowboys and Redskins played it was truly a house divided but only at game time. Joe and Gloria loved to sit on the porch in the morning and drink coffee and start their day with long conversations of what their children and grandchild did during one of their visits. Joe worked as a forklift operator for over thirty years at the Williamston Peanut Plant until his retirement. Joe was a member of St. Mark Church of Christ Disciples of Christ and was faithful and dedicated in the office of an Usher. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Latham Roberson and Frank Roberson Sr.; two brothers, Frank Jr. and Willie Vance Roberson; two sisters, Darlene Vines, Mary Elizabeth Roberson; two daughters, Karen Denise Roberson, Verna Beach; five sons, Reginald Earl Everett (Pam), Johnny Wayne Roberson, Shelton Leon Everett (Dickie), Larry Everett and Jeffrey Paul Roberson; one grandson, Deon Beach. Joe leaves to cherish his wonderful memory, his loving wife of sixty-one years, Gloria Dell Roberson of the home; five children, Gloria Jean Rhodes (Stanley) of Williamston, NC, Joseph Louis Roberson (Patricia Bunch fiancé) of Farmville, NC, Ricky Roberson (Arvella) of Holly Springs, NC, JoAnn R. Nixon (Gary) of Plymouth, NC, Sharon Demetria McKenzie (Terry) of Franklinville, NC, Gia Williams of Williamston, NC; nineteen grandchildren, Troy (Queenie),Lakeisha (Richard), Marquita, Calina, Aaron, Rochelle, Joseph, Jamica, Crystal, Kingsley, Terrence, Isaiah, Eric, Jessica, Shawndra, Felicia and Melanie; three sisters, Betty Jean Roberson, Flossie Foster both of Bridgeport, Conn. and Ella Roberson of the home; one brother, Otto Roberson (Debbie), Bridgeport Conn.; one aunt, Ida Teele of Gold Point, NC; three brothers-in-law, Jimmy Williams (Ceclia) Washington DC, Mitchell Williams (Denise) East Orange, NJ & Ronald Williams (Yvonne) of Apex NC; one sister in law, Roslyn Williams of Raleigh NC; nineteen great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
